Dr. Olurotimi Badero is a Nigerian American doctor recorded to be the first and only combined cardiologist and nephrologist (heart and kidney specialist) in the world.
Olurotimi is born in Lagos Nigeria into the family of Chief Eliab Olufemi. He has 9 siblings and the 7th child of the family.
Dr. Olurotimi has this to say in an interview granted to him by Managing Editor, Financial Nigeria Magazine and Director, Nigeria Development and Finance Forum:
''By training, i sprcialised in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, invasive and interventional cardiology, nephrology and hypertension, interventional nephrology and endovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology as well as peripheral vascular interventions. Putting all that together, i would like to think of myself as an interventional cardio nephrologist as well as a peripheral vascular interventionalist''.
''Cardiovascular disease remains the number one cause of deaths since 1950s; and in women its even worse. One woman dies every minute from Cardiovascular disease in the world today. There are more than a million women living with Cardiovascular disease in the world''.
Dr. Olurotimi is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
He currently holds certifications in six different specialties in medicine.
